What is a Cognitive Assessment?
A cognitive assessment is a professional evaluation of how you think, learn, and remember.
It explores areas such as:

Cognitive assessments help identify strengths and areas of difficulty, providing valuable insights for better understanding and support.

Assessments Available

Cognitive Assessments (age 6 and above):
Assesses an individual's cognitive capacity across various domains. The assessment results will provide feedback regarding an individual strengths and weaknesses in terms of their thinking and reasoning skills, so that we can understand the best way to support each individual child. This is completed through a comprehensive initial consultation to gather important background information and the administration of standardised tests, with results provided in a formal report and discussed in a feedback session to explain findings, provide recommendations, and opportunities to clarify any information.
- Parent consult (for young persons) or an interview with adults (1 hour)
- Cognitive assessment* and scoring (2 hours; WISC-V [6 - 16 years old] or WAIS-IV [over 16 years old])
- Report writing* (3 hours)
- Feedback session (1 hour)
*Additional assessment hours or report writing is charged at an hourly rate.

Educational Assessment (Cognitive and Achievement Assessment; age 6 and above):
Cognitive and Achievement Assessments (age 6 years old and above): assesses an individual's cognitive capacity, and their level of academic achievement. These assessments will highlight if an individual is performing academically in line with their ability, as well as providing insight into the individual's unique strengths and weaknesses both cognitively, and academically. These assessments are utilised to identify learning disorders and will assist in ruling out behavioural barriers. The information gained from these assessments will also support recommendations in how best to support each individual. This is completed through a comprehensive initial consultation to gather important background information and the administration of standardised tests, with results provided in a formal report and discussed in a feedback session to explain findings, provide recommendations and opportunities to clarify any information.

Adult ADHD assessment (18 years and above)
ADHD assessment (18 years and above): assesses symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder through comprehensive evaluation of direction observation in various settings and from information gathered from various sources, including parents/carers and/ or teachers (if available). This is completed through a comprehensive initial consultation to gather important background information and the administration of standardised tests, with results provided in a formal report and discussed in a feedback session to explain findings, provide recommendations and opportunities to clarify any information.
What to Expect
- Parent/caregiver consult for developmental history and interview with the individual (Approximately 1 hour)
- Assessment scoring and report writing* (Approximately 3 hours)
- Feedback session (1 hour)
Optional: Cognitive Assessment (at psychologists’ recommendation; Please discuss this with your clinician)
